The Vadnagar's Toran (Arch)
Two giant torans of Solanki era have been installed on the banks of the Sarmishta lake, which is located on the outskirt of Arjun Bari gate of the Vadnagar. They are known as the best sculptures of the Gujarat. The Gujarat Tourism Department has accepted these two torans as its identity symbol. It is believed that these arches were made around 12th century. They have been decorated with beautiful carvings of Lord Ganesha and his elder brother Lord Kartikeya. For what purpose these two beautiful arches were built is an interesting subject to study for any researcher or history student.
